About the South Australian Police Historical Society

Our mission

To collect, record and preserve historical and cultural material relevant to South Australia Police (SAPOL), and to display and interpret selected material from the collection for the education and enjoyment of the public.

Our vision

The South Australian Police Historical Society Inc. shall be widely recognized as a progressive and professional group striving to preserve and display South Australia Police (SAPOL) history and artefacts.

Society objectives

The objectives of the Society are…

  • to collect, preserve, restore, classify and display relics, replicas, information and other objects pertaining to the history of the South Australia Police; and
  • to research, validate and record information about the people, events, and activities comprising the history of the South Australia Police; and
  • to inform the members of the Society, police officers and the general community on the history of the South Australia Police; and
  • to build the reputation and expertise of the Society by liaising and, where appropriate, collaborating with other associations, societies or entities with similar objectives.
